WARNDON PARISH ANNUAL FUN RUN  
The Warndon Parish fun run has been going strong now for nine years and constantly gets runners from all corners of the county and beyond turning up to compete.

Fun Run Route....

  • Turn LEFT out of the Community Centre Car Park and then RIGHT into Mill Wood Drive.

  • Turn RIGHT into Plantation Drive. cross Purleigh Avenue and just before the post box cross the road to the footpath.

  • After 20 yards turn RIGHT. This takes you up on the ridge parallel with the Eastern Distributor Road. Follow the footpath past the church, and at the lane turn LEFT down to Hastings Drive.

  • Cross Hastings Drive into Old Tolladine Road. Take the first foot/cycle path on the LEFT (red brick junction) and follow this back to Hastings Drive.

  • Cross over Hastings Drive and continue on the foot/cycle path to Plantation Drive. Cross over and follow foot/cycle path to corner of Mill Wood Drive and Trotshill Lane East.

  • Turn LEFT into the lane and follow until you reach the footpath on the RIGHT, just pass a cottage.

  • Follow the footpath until it reaches a cross path and the school on the right.

  • Turn RIGHT and run down the hill back to the Community Centre Car park.

This is 5km !!

Run again for 10Km, and 3 times for the 15km run.

The 2007 Fun run

Lyppard Grange Community Centre is set to burst at the seams once again as it hosts the Ninth Warndon Villages Fun Run. The event takes place on Sunday June 3rd starting at 2pm. As in the previous years, there will be three separate races within the Race, with Runners able to choose one, two or three of the 5km (approx 3.1 miles) laps. Each finisher will receive a medal upon completion of their chosen distance, and there will be trophies for the winning athletes at each distance, plus team prizes.

Entries will be available on the day from 12 noon at LGCC, but we strongly suggest that you enter in advance to try and ease the queues. Entry forms can be found in both the Parish Council and Community Centre newsletters – or further entry forms are available from the Centre, via the clerk, or via Camba Events.

Once again the popular event is being supported and underwritten by Warndon Parish Council and all proceeds from the race will be going to local charities. Events organisers, Camba Events are on board looking after all the administration and organisation. Camba Events Race Director RICHARD BAKER comments, “This is an excellent event with tremendous atmosphere. This enables these people who do not usually run to take part in the race and enjoy a charity fun event, but our commitment to promoting a quality event means the race is organised to the highest standard demanded by the best club athletes”

The circuit will be the same as usual (see above), and covers 5 kilometres (just over 3 miles) of footpaths with entrants invited to run or walk up to three laps.

There will be a 

  • TROPHY for the winner of the 5km, 10km and 15km races

  • TROPHY for the winning team

All finisher's will receive a medal
